How Sandra J. Sullivan of Homespun Elegance joined the SYHO Campaign

I was very honored to be asked to participate in the SYHO campaign. Hopefully, this campaign will find new stitchers and instill in them *our* love of this needleart, support our wonderful needlework shops, and promote awareness of heart disease and how to avoid it.

Unknowingly, Loose Thread Stitchers chose someone who has a very important reason for promoting heart health. At the age of 47, my husband, Lehmer, had heart bypass surgery. At 23, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure (200/110). We have both greatly benefited from modern medicine and all it can do for you.

Satin Stitch

Satin Stitch
Each week we will choose a stitch to explore and post stitch diagram(s) to help you practice and master each one.

Satin Stitch ~ also known as Damask Stitch or Flat Stitch

Work from left to right (also can be worked right to left) top to bottom (or bottom to top). There are different ways to work this stitch. For the best effect be sure to be consistent with your choice throughout your project.

Can also be worked at various lengths and intervals of your choosing.
